The curvy track of Dijon wasn’t really suited for the Sierras, but despite this they had a double victory. Niedzwiedz gradually increased his lead after the start to 30 seconds at the first pit stop. Soper took over, but came in again after seven laps with a loose rear wheel. Brancatelli, replacing Ludwig who raced at the Avus, now took the lead but when he changed back to Dieudonné the latter was instructed to let Soper by. Van de Poele and Ravaglia could do no better than finish third in the same lap as the Sierras. |
