The Dunlop British Touring Car Championship may have been the last race on the British Grand Prix support till, but what a show the competitors put on. Win Percy took pole in the Andy Rouse Ford Sierra Cosworth, but he fluffed the start and was relegated to 13th slot. This gave Dave Brodie (Mitsubishi Starion), Tim Harvey (Rover Vitesse) and Frank Sytner, in the sole BMW M3, the chance they'd all hoped for as they blasted off into the distance, followed by Dennis Leech and his Rover.
