With the title decided and many drivers' cars up for sale if not already sold, it would have been understandable had the final round of the Dunlop RAC British Touring Car Championship ended quietly at Silverstone on Sunday. Far from it, though. Behind Pete Hall in the victorious Industrial Control Services Cosworth, a frantic struggle for Class A honours was decided in favour of Tim Harvey only when Dennis Leech's race ended in a gravel trap. Further down the field both Graham Hathaway and Mark Hales appeared in new mounts, each celebrating with a class. Sole Class C survivor Colin Pearcy wrapped up his title before even turning a wheel, the lack of entries seeing only half points awarded in his category. |
