"It's the corks that do it you know. Every time we win a race, we take the champagne cork from the victory bottle afterwards and, together with a piece of silver, we tie them to the roll cage of the car" smiled Tim Harvey early on Saturday morning. “It’s a patent method of bringing good luck!" By late afternoon, he had another victory cork to add to that collection. By avoiding the trouble which the other front runners ran into, Harvey's Istel Rover Vitesse took it's third BTCC win of the year. It was almost so different though. The race had four different leaders, Dennis Leech at the start, then Andy Rouse's Sierra and briefly the remarkable BMW M3 of Frank Sytner although an incident when passing Rouse put him out. From then on, Harvey cruised home to victory after one of the most exciting BTCC races this year. (MN) |
