The TWR Rover team dominated the second ETCC race of the season; in practice, they had been fastest (1-2-3), and while the Volvo of Brancatelli lead the race until lap 36, the Rover of Walkinshaw took over. When the Volvo had to pit for a disintegrating tire, the Rovers were 1-2-3 again, but Lindström fought back and finally managed second, leading the other two Rovers. Best BMW was Ravaglia/Grohs, finishing fifth after a hard race with a broken power steering. The second BMW was sidelined by Quester. Luigi-Alfa Romeo won division 2, while the Swiss team of Müller/Bollinger won the 1600 class. |
