Only a week after the Nürburgring drama for Jaguar, the power track in Austria proved the right recipe for revenge. The single car of Walkinshaw and Nicholson lead for all but ten laps. Vojtech and Enge, who had lead the other ten laps, retired with a broken engine, so this time Schnitzer came second with Stuck and Brun - and all this after a roll by Brun in practice, but luckily Freilassing isn’t too far away from Salzburg so the car could be repaired at home... Third came Manfred Winkelhock had a fight with Kelleners, but soon he had to change a tire which cost him second place in the end. Kelleners and Grano had to stop twice with their soft Pirellis, and finished fourth. |
