The non-championship invitation race to Donington wasn’t the success which it should have been; the entry list was robbed first from Loos, who left the IPT (the Team Owners’ Association) and therefore had to miss this IPT organised event. Stommelen had fallen out with his teamchef Jöst. Since there remained only 10 more or less German entries, prize money was halved. Zakspeed went home with most of it; Ludwig, without any serious opposition won the race, followed by Guy Edwards in the Ikuzawa-Kremer K3 Porsche, and behind them Ertl and Niedzwiedz. The latter was troubled by a forgotten roll of tape, which ended its journey through the cat in between the pedals! There was no way he could hold on to Ertl in this way. |
