Differences on homologation issues between the works-prepared teams of Loos and Tebernum on one side and the Italian officials on the other side meant disqualification for Schickentanz, Fitzpatrick and Haldi and made the whole race a farce. But later, of course, the points were reinstated. And after that, the points for the first three were taken away once again, despite Porsche’s statement that the oil lines in question were prepared the same way for all 100 race cars they prepared...
