With the manufacturers championship already decided, the entry list of Jarama was poor. Since Peltier still was in a position to claim the championship, Ford sent a Capri to support Zakspeed. Heyer, Escort driver in the ETCC normally, took a seat in the Capri to be able to fight with Peltier, since the overall positions only counted for the drivers’ championship. But he would only enter at the end of the race, to be able to switch to the Escort should this one be better placed overall. Apart from another BMW coupé, 2 Capris and 3 Escorts, that was about it.

We skip practice, and on race day a crowd of 100 people saw 13 cars taking the start. After 4 laps, Hezemans lapped the first Seat 124, but Peltier was in trouble with the steering, brakes and tires and could only manage third in the end, after the Capri and the Escort. Hezemans, who drove the Escort too since Mohr was unwell, was therefore first and second overall and winning both classes, a unique feat.

So Ford had a little party, claimed the victory money, and disappeared to the match Real Madrid versus Atletico Madrid, where they had 129.900 visitors more than Jarama.
