The entry was even better than Monza, with Alpina sending 2 coupés and Ford having three Capris present.
But Hezemans looked set to win this event too, he had a lead of 18 seconds over Soler-Roig’s BMW 2800 CS only seven laps from the end. Then, one of the Alfa Romeo’s fuel pumps stopped working, so Hezemans was glad to be able to finish second after all. The Capris had taken the lead initially, but fell by the wayside: Glemser lost his engine, Mohr did likewise while Hannelore Werner crashed out of the race. Huber in the second Alpina BMW had been in the lead for a while too but broke a conrod.
In division 1, it was Abt who won his class this time, one minute ahead of Wendlinger. Marko won this combined division 1 and 2 race overall with his BMW, this time the Alfa Romeos couldn’t keep up as they did in Monza.
