| Finally, a car which could up Porsches gauntlet: the turbo CSL. |
But, as a back-up, the atmospheric cars were present as well. |

| The turbo BMW clocked second fastest time in practice. |
The Faltz-Alpina CSL was 6th on the grid with Grohs and De Fierlant. |
| 7th on the grid: the Hermetite-BMW of Walkinshaw/Fitzpatrick. |

... and the start.
A
group 5-ish MG V8; hopefully it could be used in other races over the
UK, it didn't was much use here. It finished, though: 8th overall.
Even
worse was this entry: an Escort RS 2000 with Mandron and Coffey. Dead
last, slowest qualifier - just 34 seconds off the 935.
A
bit more interesting were these two ex-Group 2 cars; the Jolly Club
Escort of Grano/Finotto followed by the 16-valve Swiss Celica of
Schurti/Frey/Keller, seen at Hockenheim and Zandvoort in 1975.

| The Turbo-BMW was quick but lastet not very long. |
Porsche had their trouble too. |
| Third at the finish: Evertz/Kinnunen... |
... Wollek/Heyer came second... |
| ... and Walkinshaw/Fitzpatrick won the race! |
