Nederlands Toerwagen Kampioenschap

In the Netherlands, touring car racing had always been popular - and the Dutch had some specialists, like European Champions Swart, Hezemans and Kox.
From 1973, Touring cars and GT's were combined, just like in Germany. The fields were thin but provided some good racing and a few excellent cars.
The switch to Group 1B brought a few exellent years but ended in misery with Group A. In the mean time, a Group N championship had been created; in
spite of lots of problems with rules, weights, restrictors and illegal cars the championship grew and took over from Group A after 1988.
